Approach Our Humanities teaching adopts an inquiry-based approach, where students learn through structured investigation tasks that require them to explore authentic questions, analyse evidence and construct reasoned responses. Students engage in collaborative learning, discussing and refining ideas through peer interaction. They are also supported in developing metacognitive awareness through peer and self-assessment, enabling them to monitor their understanding and improve their work. Through these practices, students develop critical thinking, becoming more confident in evaluating perspectives, making judgements and applying their learning to real-world contexts. |

Programmes Our Humanities programmes are designed to extend learning beyond the classroom through authentic, inquiry-based experiences that develop critical and reflective learners, who engage actively with issues that matter to them and their community. Experiential Learning: Geography Fieldwork Lower Secondary students participate in Geography fieldwork, where they investigate real-world environments and sustainability issues through an inquiry approach. By applying geographical skills such as observation, data collection and analysis, students deepen their understanding of human-environment relationships and develop environmental responsibility. Stretching Passion and Excellence in Humanities Students with interest and aptitude in the Humanities are provided with opportunities to deepen their learning and extend their thinking through a range of enrichment platforms:
Student Agency in Action: Racial Harmony Day Programme (G1 Social Studies) Students design and implement a varied range of Racial Harmony Day activities each year, drawing on their inquiry into identity, diversity and harmony to reflect student voice and perspectives. |
