Objectives (short paragraph)

The English Language and Literature (EL/Lit) Department aims to develop students into Empathetic Communicators, Discerning Readers and Creative Inquirers. Through the study of language and literature, students build a strong foundation in communication while learning to think critically and respond thoughtfully to the world around them.

The department also seeks to nurture students who are aware of global issues and sensitive to diverse perspectives. In doing so, students grow into concerned global citizens and active, adaptive contributors, while developing a deeper interest and confidence in both English Language and Literature.
